I changed the drive letter in disk managment and my second drive started working!! Such a simple solution and so hard to find. I have followed the example on the forum by going to computer management and rescanning disks, to no avail. that's a description of your state of being. If you're not sure whether what is shown there really is the drive you've plugged in just search the internet for the cryptic name you have in there.
